Facebook took the wraps off of its new news feed design today, introducing a news feed that's wider, puts more emphasis on the photos, video, and stories you and your friends are sharing, and moves all of the clutter around your feed out of the way. The new UI is also designed to look the same on the desktop and on mobile devices.
The new feed is designed to make it easier for you to get access to your friend lists, the pages that you like, and more information right in newly widened center column of your news feed. The toolbar on the right side expands and hides itself depending on whether or not you need to use it, and photos and video are larger when displayed in your feed. If you're familiar with the most recent redesigns for the iOS and Android Facebook apps, the desktop layout will look familiar.
Facebook announced the changes today, and says the new feed will roll out to a limited set of users starting today, so it may be a while yet before you see it come your way.
